Location: Nr Haywards Heath
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a busy and supportive veterinary practice as a Deputy Head Veterinary Nurse.
This role would suit an RVN who enjoys leading from the front, supporting colleagues and helping to ensure the smooth running of a fast-paced clinical environment. Applications are welcomed from established Deputy Head Nurses, as well as experienced RVNs who are ready to take their first step into a formal leadership role.
| ABOUT THE ROLE |
Working closely with the Head Veterinary Nurse, the successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating the day-to-day running of the nursing team and clinical floor while maintaining exceptional standards of patient care.
Monday to Friday
8.5 hour shifts with participation in the weekend and night rota.
| RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Supporting the Head Veterinary Nurse with the day-to-day coordination of the nursing team
- Helping to organise workflow and prioritise workload across a busy clinical floor
- Leading by example and maintaining high clinical and professional standards
- Delivering excellent patient care, including anaesthesia, surgical nursing and inpatient care
- Supporting nurse consultations and a varied clinical caseload
- Coaching, mentoring and supporting the development of nursing colleagues
- Deputising for the Head Veterinary Nurse when required
- Contributing to the development of nursing protocols, procedures and clinical standards
- Helping to create a positive, collaborative and supportive working environment
Previous leadership or management experience would be advantageous but is not essential. They are equally keen to hear from experienced RVNs with the ambition and aptitude to develop into a leadership position.
Experience within a referral, hospital or emergency and critical care environment would be beneficial, although this is not essential.
