Are you an experienced Small Animal Vet looking for a dedicated night role with an excellent work-life balance?

We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established independent veterinary practice that provides exceptional 24-hour care to its own client base. This is an exciting opportunity to join an experienced night team, delivering high-quality inpatient and emergency care while enjoying genuine clinical freedom and continuity of care.

Working a rota of 7 nights on, followed by 14 nights off, your shifts will run from 6:00pm to 8:00am, allowing you plenty of time to recharge between rotations.

The Role

As the Night Vet, you will:

  • Provide continuous overnight care for hospitalised small animal patients.
  • Manage emergency cases for the practice’s own clients.
  • Carry out evening consultations, ward rounds and regular overnight patient checks.
  • Work closely with an experienced Night Nurse team to deliver exceptional patient care.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and provide detailed handovers to the day team.
  • Help ensure a smooth transition into the daytime service each morning.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A minimum of three years’ UK experience in a Small Animal Vet or Night Vet position.
  • RCVS registration.
  • Confidence working sole charge overnight.
  • Experience managing inpatient care and emergency cases.
  • Excellent clinical judgement and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A compassionate approach to patient and client care.
  • A full UK driving licence and your own transport due to the rural setting.
