Head Registered Veterinary Nurse | Newcastle-upon-Tyne

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head RVN to join a well-established, independently owned small animal practice in the North East.

This friendly, two-site practice offers a varied first opinion caseload and is seeking a confident, proactive nurse who enjoys supporting both medical and surgical cases while helping to lead and develop a collaborative nursing team.

This role would suit either an existing Head Nurse or an experienced senior RVN ready to take the next step into leadership.

The Role

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting and mentoring the nursing team, maintaining high clinical standards, and contributing to the continued development of nurse-led services and clinics.

The practice prides itself on creating a positive and supportive working culture where every team member’s input is valued.

  • Salary of £34,000–£38,000 DOE

The team consists of experienced vets, RVNs and reception staff who work closely together in a welcoming and supportive environment. The practice continues to invest heavily in its future, including recent refurbishment projects and exciting plans for expanded facilities.

About You

  • RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse
  • Previous senior or Head Nurse experience preferred
  • Confident supporting both surgical and medical cases
  • Passionate about team leadership and mentoring
  • Interest in nurse clinics and service development advantageous
  • Positive, compassionate and collaborative approach
