SW Veterinary

Veterinary Surgeon | Feline & Small Animal | Worthing

We’re looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly and supportive team in a unique split role, working across two practices:

  • 2 days per week in a feline-only practice
  • 2 days per week in a small animal practice

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident GP vet who enjoys variety while developing a special interest in feline medicine.

The Role

You’ll be an experienced branch Veterinary Surgeon with at least 3 years’ UK small animal GP experience, confident working in a branch practice environment and comfortable with occasional sole charge. You’ll be competent in routine consultations, surgery, dentals and everyday medical cases, with the confidence to manage your own caseload.

A genuine passion for feline medicine is highly desirable. A feline medicine certificate would be welcomed, although we’re equally keen to hear from vets who are interested in working towards one.

This role also offers exciting long-term career progression, with plans to recruit a Lead Vet for the feline-only practice in 2027, making it an ideal opportunity for someone looking to develop into a future leadership position.

Rota

  • 4-day week (2 days at each practice)
  • 40 hours per week
  • 10-hour shifts between 7:30am and 7:30pm
  • 1-hour lunch break
  • 1 in 6 weekends
  • 2 days off in lieu for weekends worked

Location

Based in a large town in West Sussex, you’ll enjoy easy access to Brighton, London and the South Downs National Park. The area benefits from excellent transport links, including the A24 and A27, as well as five train stations offering direct services to nearby cities and central London.

Benefits

We believe in investing in our people and offer an excellent benefits package, including:

  • Salary of £45,000–£65,000+ depending on experience, certificates and Advanced Practitioner status
  • Generously funded CPD, including certificate funding
  • Standard pension scheme
  • 40% staff discount for your own pets
  • 7 weeks’ holiday (including bank holidays)
  • Occupational health support, including mental health resources
  • Enhanced parental leave after qualifying service (6 months paid at 90%)
  • Enhanced sick pay (2 weeks at full pay after qualifying service)

If you’re a proactive, experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking for a varied role with genuine opportunities to develop your feline expertise and progress your career, we’d love to hear from you.
